December 3-4th Big Match Previews

Damn aren’t there some big games this weekend. With all leagues well under way, it’s time for the big teams to start dropping points, so let’s see which teams have a good chance to gain the points they need from their rivals:

1. Everton vs Manchester United

As a huge united fan I will be including all the games I think will be a good game, and I this is a game where I’m expecting good things. United were great in mid week, smashing west ham easily like United should. Martial returning to the squad was a blessing. He has abilities that link well with the other players on the pitch, including his pace, his ability to cut inside and cause problems to that back four and his finishing. Most players will look at Zlatan, Rooney and Mkhi and make sure that they are neutralised as much as they can, but Martial goes unnoticed, giving him the chance cause some damage. The biggest concern for united is two things. The first is Rooney. The captain always turns for Everton because he loves making an impression at the club that made him. My thoughts on Rooney are very mixed, but when he gets fired up he can cause some damage. The other is finishing. The first half of the West ham game on Wednesday was the story of our life, great football but couldn’t finish. But second half we turned up and treated west ham like they were nothing and we need to replicate that at Goodison Park. Everton are not great at the moment. They’ve been poor defensively and struggle to score goals. Barkley has been poor this season and Lukaku isn’t scoring at the moment and Everton don’t have anyone to rely on to score except him. And because of that I can’t see nothing more than a united win

Prediction: Everton 0-2 Manchester United

2. Manchester City vs Chelsea

It’s time for one of the biggest games of the season. Both teams are still in the race for the title and one of them wants to get the advantage over the other. Chelsea have been excellent this season. Not only are they playing excellent, they’re also solid in the back with the likes of Gary Cahill there, (who I still think isn’t good enough for them) it just blows me away what Conte has done. I thought he was a great coach but he was better than I ever expected. On the other hand, City are where I expected them to be. I remember when they won 5 in a row and everyone thought they were going to win the league, but it seemed like everyone forgot how Pellegrini started last season, and we all know how city finished last season don’t we? City are still a quality team though, they have one of the best attacks in the league but defensively they have their problems. I still don’t think Otamendi is that reliable and Stones is the same. I just believe Chelsea have a team ready to win the league now. City still need a season or two to get the team Pep needs. Even though City have the home advantage, it won’t make a single difference.

Prediction: Manchester City 1:3 Chelsea

3. Barcelona vs Real Madrid

And now for the biggest game of the weekend, the El Classico. Normally I’d say form doesn’t matter in games like this but I think it does, mainly will Barcelona. Barca have not been great this season compared to their usual standards. They’ve been getting too many draws and keep been relying on poor refereeing to help them out of bad situations. Their signings having been great either. They’ve bought a lot of squad players but when they play don’t come close to the likes of Iniesta and Pique. Maybe with more game time the likes of Gomes, Umtiti and Suarez will improve but right now they aren’t good enough. Madrid on the other hand are on top of the world. The fact that they haven’t lost in over 30 games must be a huge confidence boost for them. Zidane has got all their players playing the way he wants, and he even though he has quite a few players injured, the players that come in know their job and can do a job. I just think Real could win everything this season. Their squad is complete and have back up in every single position. Even though Messi, Neymar and Suarez will cause plenty of threat it just won’t be enough. I can’t see anything but a Los Blancos victory.

Prediction: Barcelona 1:2 Real Madrid

4. Lazio vs Roma

The Serie A is starting to grow on me. After the Milan Derby ive been following the league with more interest and from what I’ve heard, this is supposed to be a good game. Roma have been one of the top scoring teams in Europe’s top leagues, with Dzeko and Salah on fire for Roma. But Lazio on the other hand are unbeaten in 9, with Ciro Immobile socring plenty for them. Roma have had this habit of letting leads skip for them. They try to outscore their opponents but it sometimes doesn’t work, and it won’t work for them Sunday. Because of how good Lazio have been, I don’t think scoring plenty will work. But I do think it’ll be a goal fest!

Prediction: Lazio 2:2 Roma

Other games to keep note of are Dortmund vs Monchengladbach, Juventus taking on the inform Atalanta and Leipzig taking on Schalke
